Firefly 2.0
Firefly 2.0 is an artbot informed by DIY aesthetics. The work made out of upcycled materials skitters unpredictably while flashing a large blue led. In a whimsical manner it harkens back to wonderful summertime childhood experiences collecting bugs. The artbot based on BEAM robotic technology (using simple analog circuits), was inspired by the idea of the emergence of new living forms from the wastes of older ones. As the wastes become more complex, including structural elements, electronic components and power sources a potential exists for new biomimetic forms to arise in a new taxonomic class that scavenges and builds on the waste of its predecessors.

Maternova
We are obsessed with simple innovations that save lives in low-income countries. We have created an obstetric kit that aggregates a bunch of those simple tools in a single pak. And we are starting to create our own simple innovations. http://maternova.net

Rhode Island Museum of Science and Art
The Rhode Island Museum of Science and Art plans to create a highly interactive, informal learning center in RI devoted to increasing independent thinking, creativity and innovation. Our exhibits, and these installations, merge art and science to create a hands-on way to experience sound, texture, color, particle flow and electricity. Please don't ask what you are "supposed" to do with them. Observe others and experiment on your own to see what you CAN do with them.

You Can Be a Siege Engineer
Build your own medieval catapult, and support a technology museum. Teams sought for the Charles River Museum of Industry spring fund raising event. A one day event where your companies' team will build a large scale traction trebuchet, and then compete to see which team's machine can throw the farthest. Win valuable bragging rights, help a local museum recover from a serious flooding event, and take home a machine that will be great fun at a summer picnic, or prove useful for repelling hostile takeover attempts.
